It was a double danger for a couple who adopted a boy because of their inability to have a child and to have a child who will care for them in old age, because the boy grew up to become a bandit alone produces rifles for armed robbers in Lagos.
P.M. EXPRESS reports that the bandit, Chukwuma Ezeanyim, has been arrested by police officers in the Ejigbo division led by the DPO, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi and has found tools that he used to produce toy weapons for criminals.
The suspect, who claimed to have produced toy guns in Port Harcourt, River State, was arrested on Nufemi Street, Ejigbo in Lagos, after his parents discovered that he was an ordinary criminal and sent him away.
He then started living with a lady, identified as Joy Ekpo, in the same compound where he eventually broke into her house and was taken to the police.
It was collected that the complainant, Joy Ekpo, went to the Ejigbo division police and reported that the suspect, Chukwuma Ezeanyim, had broken into her house, had stolen her DSTV explorer; he was then arrested and detained at the police station for questioning.
During the interrogation, the police discovered that the suspect, Chukwuma, was an ordinary criminal and was then taken to the scene of the incident where the police made a shocking discovery.
The police found a locally assembled toy gun, iron pipe, long iron and two knives, which he produced locally.
He was handed over to FSARS officials in Ikeja, Lagos, under the direction of CSP Peter Gana for further investigation.
Police sources at FSARS said that Chukwuma made a confessional statement about how he produced the gun and for what purpose the police intensify the investigation to know to whom he supplies the weapons he produces.
