Deontay Wilder, who is now a dethroned WBC champion, has announced why he lost to Tyson Fury in the recent fight.
The black American has made an incredible claim that the suit he was wearing for his ring walk played a major role in his defeat to Tyson Fury on Sunday morning.
The American also confirmed that he will activate his rematch clause.
Wilder was wearing a black and red armored suit with a matching mask and crown for the fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
He has now claimed that his defeat was because of the 45 pound suit that weakened his legs.
While talking to Yahoo News, he said:
“He didn’t hurt me at all, but the simple fact is that my uniform was way too heavy for me.
“I had no legs from the start of the fight. In the third round my legs were completely shot through.”
However, Deontay Wilder later revealed that he will exercise his right to a third fight, which will happen in the summer.
“The rematch will definitely happen. We take it on. I want to come back to it immediately, “he told The Athletic.”
