The Supreme. The Supreme Court has been set up to hear the All Progressive Party’s request for the revision of the Bayelsa State judgment.
The party seeks to reverse the verdict that disqualified its candidate David Lyon in the last governor elections in the state of Bayelsa,
The party argued that the Supreme Court acted outside jurisdiction and refused its fair hearing when it proceeded to disqualify its presidential candidate, although the Federal Supreme Court in Justice Inyang Ekwo’s verdict, which upheld the Supreme Court, refused the prayer to disqualify Mr. Lyon.
The national president of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomole, also witnesses the proceedings alongside the disqualified APC vice-governor, senator Degi Biobarakuma.
The Justices of the Supreme Court’s 7-person panel is led by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta.
Lawyer to David Lyon, Afe Babalola urges the court to set aside the judgment of 13 February 2020. court has been misled or the judgment was given outside the jurisdiction, which is one of the reasons for their request.
He also argued that the judgment of 13 February infringed the applicant’s rights to a fair trial.
